For the most exclusive night of the year, the people behind Download Saturdays will host a lavish 3 room, Studio 54 style New Years Eve Spectacular at Pod.



For one night only, you will be transported from the bleak and boring to the unique setting of New Years Eve celebrations at Pod 54. It will be a place where the fabulously beautiful rub shoulders with the outrageous, wild and wacky, and where onlookers can feast their eyes on the ‘human zoo’ of interesting characters. As you adjust to the sights and sounds of Rockeroke, DavidDeValera, Super Super Disco, Rockeroke, your spirits will lift and life's worries will fade away as you plunge yourself into a crazy, funky, unquestionably happier time.



This New Years Eve Spectacular will be the most exciting countdown to midnight in the country with explosive midnight moments and surprises that will catapult you into 2010 with a smile! Get your glad rags on for a deliciously stylish party, guaranteed to bring out the best party people in Dublin.



Rockeroke will have everyone transported back to the notorious 70s and 80s night club era, with their very own unique take on the disco scene. The concept is simple. You choose what you sing, then join the full band live on stage. It combines the best of a big live band with fantastic audience participation. With Rockeroke members of the audience can join the bands performance on stage. Apart from a high quality and very experienced full band, including backing singers, the audience members can perform live on stage with the lyrics on the big screen. What is unique about Rockeroke is that the lyrics play like karaoke in time with the band and can be seen on the big screen and on stage monitors. The band have a repertoire of over a 100 tracks to choose from. The band continue to entertain as a normal act throughout the evening as participants are coming up to sing. The atmosphere is further enhanced with a full sound and lighting show that gives the participants the sense of a big live experience



Pod's spectacular New Years Eve party will be one of the biggest nights in Dublin, as the legendary venue counts down to 2010 in grand style. For those of you into your clubbing you'll no doubt have shaken your thang to David De Valera at some stage. Biography


With tracks ‘Micro Pig’ and ‘Say that’ already getting support from the likes of Tim Green, Danny D [2020 Sound System] Loko who is sparking interest from Richie Hawtin and more, adding to that he has dates set as the Irish support act for Sander Van Doorn’s ‘Dusk til Doorn’ UK & Ireland tour, it’s safe to say DJ and Producer Dave DeValera has had a good year.

After making an impression when playing support for Doorn in Dublin in the latter part of 2008, De Velara was specifically requested by Doorn to bring his unique sound/style to the ‘Dusk til Doorn’ experience.

David De Valera exemplifies a new generation of Irish DJs. Operating in the same house / techno scene as his international peers, De Valera’s style incorporates a mix of pumping house and party techno……… which is what stood out to Doorn;

“Doorn liked the way my style was completely different to his, he was tired of having trance DJ’s programmed to warm up his crowd, it took away form the whole doorn experience and he wanted to mix it up, I’m very intuitive behind the decks and in the studio so even though my style is separate to Doorn’s it still exiting to the crowd”

David De Valera has been working in the electronic music scene for over 8 years including running a number of successful nights in some of the most prestigious clubs in Dublin, after recently getting signed by record label ‘Club 66’ and ‘Ananas Recordings’ and with two more tracks due for release before the close of the year, an upcoming tour and a date to play The Ministry of Sound in London, De Valera looks set to continue his success breaking into the international scene and becoming a solid household name.

Keeping the spirit of the original Studio 54 in mind, the party is all about excess, disco and glamour. SuperSuperDisco ticks all the boxes. SuperSuperDisco is Dublin's newest electrodiscoindiepoptrash night for boys, girls and everyone else. Count down the new year and dance like a robot/punk/ballerina/idiot to everything from Chic to Peaches, from Battles to the Bee Gees and from The Cure to Kool & The Gang.
