DVD to Sony Walkman

    Hi, reaching out for some help. The young lad got a Sony Walkman NWZ-E440 from Santa, we can't seem to copy a DVD to it, it won't even drag the DVD to the "Contents Transfer". Do I need to save the DVD to harddrive first and then move?

    You can't just copy a DVD. DVD's are copy protected to stop copying but there are applications that will 'ripp' from a DVD and save a compressed version in format that can then be transferred to many devices.

    Handbrake might do the job for you: http://handbrake.fr/

    You will need to know what formats the Sony can play and make sure you rip to that format.

    Handbrake will work, but please note the following thread on the Handbrake forums.

    Settings as suggested.

    Mpeg4 - Audio Encoder AAC

    video quality - 1500kbits/sec
    audio quality - 64kbits/sec
    screen size 320X240
    frame rate 29.97
    sample rate - 44100
    Pre Set - Normal
