Question on scanner

I have the CANNON PIXMA MP220 printer , but when it scans the light under the glass which scans the sheet only goes halfway and goes backwards and only half the sheet is being scanned so annoying and i think this is the problem Can anyone help ? Do i need to change the setting on the printer all in one scanner
