    Hi,
am currently looking at a 06 diesel twin top from the North, with a 1.9 diesel engine. Have tried to calculate VRT online, but it keeps telling me that there is no match to my search, Can anyojne shed any light on this? Would also welcome advice or opinions on the car.
    Thanks

You have to enter the make and model as an Opel Astra on the VRO site. It then works.

    MAKE: OPEL
MODEL: ASTRA ALL VERSIONS (From Apr. 1998)
    VERSION: 1.9 CDTI TWINTOP DESIGN 2DR / CONVERTIBLE / MANUAL / DIESEL /
    CO2 EMISSIONS: 159

    MILEAGE: 234222 MILES
DATE OF FIRST REGISTRATION: MARCH 2006

    OPEN MARKET SELLING PRICE: €22145
    RATE OF TAX: 24%
    VEHICLE REGISTRATION TAX:
    (payable on enquiry date) €5314

1.9 diesel is a Fiat engine and is one of the best in it's class.

Can I ask what makes the VRT so high? Prob a stupid question, but I have no idea!

The OMSP or Open Market Selling Price. This is the value that Revenue value the car to be worth down here. For the Astra they consider a 2006 1.9 CDTi TwinTop to be worth just over €22k here.

I don't think the TwinTop was ever available here with the 1.9 CDti engine so it is hard to tell the real value of one here.

It might be worth ringing your local VRO for clarification though.
