Creating an after-school club as Gaeilge

I hope I'm in the right forum for this....let's see!!

I'm a primary teacher in Dublin. I'm thinking about starting an after-school Gaeilge club in my school that would run for the upcoming term at least and then may be repeated if it goes well.

I'd like to have the whole club planned in advance so as to make it as good as I can. By good, I mean that the children will learn a bit ad have fun too!

I have some ideas like doing PE or Vis Arts through Gaeilge like in a Gaelscoil, or including an element of regularly watching Irish cartoons, or doing something Dramatic like a play. They'd all work to an extent, but I'm afraid they would involve me doing all the talking!!! (which wouldn't be that unusual!!)

So, an ceist atá agam ná seo.....an bhfuil tuairimí agaibhse?? Any ideas???

    Míle buíochas!!

I absolutely hated Irish in school, nobody told me it was an actual spoken language, just had me repeat gibberish (to me) and punished when I didn't know it. Crap times.

:) This is a very good idea however, I hope it goes great..
Make sure you're not the only teacher doing all the driving/painting/organizing/ideas.

You could also try (in Irish) projects involving internet searches, and/or celebrity profiling?
How about Irish speed dating (play) for the older ones?
They could translate their favorite song into Irish too.

You could also have them call out instructions to their blindfolded teammate (in irish), guiding them around an obstacle course.

Or have them complete everyday tasks blindfolded, like make a bed or identify the object.

There's always pin the tail on the donkey in irish, or pin the crime to the politician :P
