can anyone point me in the direction of whats needed for the bike

Main thing needed is to get out and put plenty of base miles in.;)

Seriously though-Shoes and clipless pedals if you ain't got em yet. They make a big difference.
In this weather i'd get a pair of bibtights asap.

heres a pic of the bike and the peddles.

the peddles will take the clip shoes right. what do use think of the bike

Bike looks nice, very nice paintjob.

The suggestion was to get some clipless pedals, you use special cycling shoes with these and screw a cleat into the bottom of the sole that clips in to the pedal. Works a lot better than toe clips and safer too (easier to get out of.)

Something like these could be a good idea, the first would be more a shoe for commuting or if you are doing a bit of walking, the second probably better for actual pedalling (likely a stiffer sole from the looks of it):

But for your first pair of shoes you are probably better off buying in a local bike shop, it can be difficult to get the sizing right buying from the internet.

You'd be as well get shoe covers when your there.Around €30 for a good pair. Very cold and wet on the feet this time of year without them.
