Posession of Cannabis

Swim was caught in June with less than 1.5g of cannabis in a parked car with 3 of his friends. He was fully co-operative with the pigs and thought the matter was finished.

Today he received a summons to a district court for posession.

He thinks the following circumstances will count in his favour.

    Aged 19,
    Minimal amount of cannabis,
Friendly to the guards and truthful,
Very importantly, no criminal record. Never arrested, never so much as a JLO,
Hadn't actually smoked any when he got caught,
Will have a top defence lawyer,
    Is pleading guilty,

What should he expect? A full on criminal record that will prevent him from going to America?
He knows friends of his that have been caught driving in possession and while under the influence, and simply got an adult warning.

Dont forget they're just men like yourself. Gardai respond to hate, violence and intimidation and even to a baseball bat in the back of the leg but they also respond to love, peace, and compassion. What you give out is what you get back - where focus goes energy flows because the inner world affects the outer world imho. Have love in your heart and you'll get it back. In fact, Gardai are trained very well to handle disturbances. They dont have a clue what to do with someone who is being peaceful ;)

Cant give out legal advice, but have you tried actually looking up the words they use to see what they mean and to see whether or not you understand (stand under) them? Legalese is not common English, although it looks it, its a completely different language.
You are already born with the right to smoke Marijuana. It's not unlawful although it may be illegal in some societies such as the Law Society.

He should expect his Top Defence Lawyer to answer those questions.
