Hey,

Is it possible or even it is allowed to ask sellers on ebay could they post to a different address. Reason why I am asking this is because there is an item on ebay I'd like to get however, he doesn't ship outside of the US.

My friend from Florida told me they would be happy to take it and send it to Ireland.

Just add the address to your ebay and select it when paying! I have 3 addresses saved and use them all depending on the size of the item

When adding the new address, do I put my name down as the contact name or friend's name down?

You can't change or add a name. You can only add additional addresses. I don't know if you can add one from a different country though.

When adding a new address, it does give me that option. It also gives me that option when I change Ireland to United States.

That works on eBay, but not on Paypal, and the seller may not ship to a conflicting address to Paypal's (if you're paying that way).

You should contact the seller first anyway, as and outside-US bid may not even be allowed, and the seller may not ship even if it does work.

Yeah, I figured what your talking about later that day, there's no option to change the country of the gift address, due to paypal policy.

It's ok though, my friend just decided it to buy it for me in the end! I just sent them the money through paypal.

Just create your friends address on paypal, most sellers say "will only ship to confirmed paypal addresses", but the confirmed bit isn't true unless they're incredibly anal, or the item's worth a lot.

You're missing the point. You can't change or add a new country on Paypal.
