    Hey everyone,

I got a Kenwood FP730 Food Processor for Xmas, and seem to have a small problem with it.

Can't get it to turn on.

We've followed the instructions, fitted the parts, but there doesn't look to be any "on" switch?

Just a knob on the front with a "0" setting then numbers 1-8 Clockwise from it, Anti-Clockwise there is a "P" setting, for pulse.

When the knob is turned, nothing happens.

    Anyone got one of these?

haven't got that exact one, but usually they don't come on if attachment isn't clipped in properly. i.e the bowl and the lid. Some of them take a bit of wiggling to get it to sense they are correctly installed. There isn't an on switch 0 is off, so you are doing the right thing there.

(Also get your foot of of there!)

Spent a good while fiddling with it, and the lid and bowl are definitely clipped in place.

There's a long part that clips into the base, the bowl over it, and then the attachment onto the long part, it all fits together fairly snugly, but still nothing.

You're probably missing some for of safety deadman feature somewhere. I will go a looking :)

This model definitely has a safety interlock. You should prob take all the bits off and make sure they're fit securely (in the bowls case make sure it LOCKS. i'm not being smart with the caps, they usually make a big clicky locky sound :) )

    DOUBLE EDIT:

The manual has the following bolded:

The processor won’t work if the bowl and lid are fitted
    incorrectly

    I'd double check that. :)

    Cheers, will try it again.

But I'm sure I had everything turned and locked as far as they'd go.

I'm going to try again in the morning, if it's still dead, it's going back to the North Pole :D

    (Stick with one persona too!)

Maybe try leaning on the lid as you turn power on too, then twisting it left right etc, all with it turned on to 2 to see can you get it to burst to life.

(Double check the socket, plug fuse etc too of course!)

Hi had the exact same problem with this. There is a double click on the bowl unit in order for it to work properly.

    ;)
