Hi there, I got 2 new memory cards 'pro duo 4gb' for my Sony DSC-T77... Over christmas I took many different pictures...

My Aunt wanted to view one of the photos so i inserted the card into the computer. The image icons came up as per usual but then when I went to view one of the it told me that the card could not be found...

I reinserted the card into camera and 'error formatting memory card - C:13:01 is coming up on it.

I did the same with another new card as in took pics , tried to show them on the computer and then all of a sudden the above process happened. These were just sample pics so i tried to format it but it would not let me and started saying 'reinsert memory card'

I have tried with fail to use recover software but as the card is not really recgonised it does not work :

Therefore Id appreciate it if anybody could help as i would love to get the photos back and to have my 2 4gb memory cards working.

    With thanks in advance

Can you try another card reader ?
Sometimes its the card reader that causes this fault.

Format card in camera and take a few snaps, then see if you can see them on camera. If you can then connect camera to PC and see if you can upload to PC directly from camera.

first of all, i'd avoid using that card reader in case that's the problem - the cards were working before inserted into it?
