Anyone use an HDMI switch with their PS3 - I have two HDMI input on the tv, but three HD devices (2 satellite boxes & a PS3).

Bought one switch, but it gives sparklies when I run the PS3 through it - just wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

    Hi
I use a three in ,one out hdmi switch with my PS3 and have had no problems, check the cables are a snug fit on the back of the TV set.My HDMI switcher is a cheap unit bought on eBay so you should have no issues.

sparklies are due to noise at high data rates.

could be the switch and/or the cables.
as suggested - check that the cables are plugged in nice and tight.. Try swapping cables if you can to see if you can get any difference.
If not - then it could be your switch.

Make sure it specs 1080p and HDMI 1.3a as well as HDCP.

I have 2 switches in use - 1 is a bigass switch with push buttons (from maplin) which was ok for a while, but after a few switches has developed a severe case of sparklies - wouldnt mind too much - but it wasn't cheap.

The other I have is an all digital 4 to 2 matrix switch which is perfect as no mechanical switching is needed.

so overall - recommend the digital switches any day ;)

Thanks - cables all nice & tight & when I switch them around, I still get sparklies on the PS3 channel, so the switch has gone back to the shop - I'll look out for one of the digital ones
