Do Air Asia fly from Ho Chi Minh to Laos? That's who I flew with when I was in South East Asia...

Hi Op, try Lao Airlines. Quote from website below:

"3 More Flights will Be Resumed Effective January
Lao Airlines would like to announce the resumtion of three flight seive per week, VTE-PKZ-SGN ( Vientiane-Pakse- Ho chi Minh City),which will be effective from 26January 2010 until further notice."

If you're in the area try pricing in a travel agent aswell as on the web. We were told that because credit cards are so rare in Laos/Vietnam, its cheaper to pay cash in a travel agent than book by credit card.

Thanks guys. Got this for e160 in the end, after much googling. The cheapest a local tour company quoted was e224! Vietnam airlines site was e185, but e-bookers quoted me £145 sterling or around e160, which was grand. Shop around!

Did you actually book it OP?

The only reason I ask is because some of the Asia airlines, while they operate a website, they don't take bookings on said websites.

But then they sell similar flights through local "travel agents" and then the price increases.

Let us know because there are other ways of going between the countries you have mentioned.

    K.

Edit: To clarify what I meant to say is this, If you are going from Vietnam to Laos, a lot depends on which way you want to go. If you want to go from Southern Vietnam into Laos via Cambodia, then expect the following:

    HCM-Phnom Penh (by bus) = 6 hours.

Then from PP to 4 thousand Islands (The most southern, arguably beautiful, part of Laos) is then a further 10/12 hours. By bus.

Just did a simlar route. If you have any questions about that area, feel free to PM me. I'll respond within 2 or 3 days.
