If you are racing against your spouse it could cause problems I reckon.

My competitive cycling days ended after the arrival of our second child. My partner and I work outside the home and therefore just couldn't commit the time to training etc. So depends on when you plan to have a family. Good luck;)

Reminds me a bit of the "contraption" Dualfrontdiscs showcased at the Ride in the Park with Lance

As long as you manage to fit in some quality time with your OH, I can't see why it would be bad. You can always get them to take a sport massage class or drive the team car so they also get into the competitive aspect and stop giving out because you're never home and when you are you're sleeping.

Should not make any difference whatsoever...do u think that being married you must now stay indoors all the time?
Make the most of it before any kids come along as that WILL alter things :-)

I dont race, but am married and have three kids.

The biggest difficulty is finding time to train, in that kids devour time, thats not their fault its just the way it is. My parents put time in to me, so I must do the same for my kids. I am training for two events in the summer, and to be honest while it is very difficult to actually find time to train, I use training as a release valve from the kids.

Any difficulties with the wife would be related to the fact that when out on the bike (or knackered after coming home) that I dont pull my weight. As regards the wife, I get to spend the evenings with her, not so with the kids as they are in bed.

While I try to get on the bike as much as possible, I would imagine that it wold be difficult to train suceessfully for racing and have kids - not impossible but just difficult.
