    not in the first detail anyway
    i shot pistol but one guy shooting rifle would have qualified except he shot a zero somehow
    and still scored a 567
    :eek::eek::eek::eek:
    i have to say that this air pistol stuff is really getting interesting

    Jesus, think Ray really needs to get his rifle fixed! It's a sear issue from what people have been telling me.

    He would definitely have qualified, and with a nice margin too, if it wasn't for that allright - and it wasn't the sear, he's fixed that as far as I know, it was just a moment's lapse of concentration. Had one of them myself when they called the ten minute warning just as I was letting off a shot, and I put it squarely into the eight ring instead of the ten :( It wasn't a great day really :(

    Have a bunch of video to go through now to do the post-match what-the-hell-caused-that analysis :D

    Oh, ouch. That really stings. This was the last qualification match, wasn't it? Results going up here?

    That is a bad luck, how about the pistol did any one get the score?

    It would be good to have a team at Intershoot

    Thanks to all those who came out in bad conditions today to shoot in the UCD New Year's Open.

    The weather had a big impact on the turnout so it ended up being a fairly small event overall.

    Congratulations to all those who took part and we hope to see you all at our next competition on the 7th of February.

    Thanks for the loaner John. Just couldn't keep her on target. Weird.

    If it was the first time you used a PCP, I wouldn't get hung up on it - its a very different rifle from what you are used to.

    Congratulations to all those who braved the weather to compete yesterday. And well done to those who managed to hit new PBs despite what looked like arctic conditions in the UCD Range.

    Don't worry about it too much; we all have those sort of days (even when we're using our own gear!). As Z said, it's a completely different rifle to what you're used to, and having to set it up during the match doesn't help either. Just put it down to experience, record how it felt (so that if you do start to use a rifle like it you'll know what to expect), and move on!

    Peter Friend qualified for the pistol. Think he's the only one going to Intershoot. Means plenty of scope for smallbore matches this year. :) I'm hoping for the World University Shooting Championships. To apply the usual top 66% qualifying score, that'll be about 582, so a perfect developmental and intermediate level smallbore match, albeit for a fairly small demographic. Still though, 'tis the students that have the most time to be developed! I believe there are several others interested too, not sure whether they've submitted EoIs or anything, but if not, they should be doing so soon.
