You should get 2 brand new pickups on ebay from the USA for about €100.
Seymour Duncans are one of the popular brands. The SH-4 for the bridge and either SH-1 or SH-2 for the neck is a good alround combination.

Others would be Dimarzio and EMG. I am sure members will give you some other options and then agree to disagree about those options. :)

As far as getting them wired in......not a big job really. A little solder job.
A guy near me in Dundalk would do this job for €10. Don't pay big bucks for a job that is not a big deal for a guitar.

I've only tried a handful of Wilkinson guitars and always found the pick-ups adequate, but at the same time nothing to get excited about. GFS do some great pick-ups for those on a budget...

Stick with some nice low output humbuckers or you could throw a nice humbucker sized P90 into the mix too for a bit of added sizzle and twang. The other alternative is of course to keep a good eye on adverts.ie, some nice ones pop up from time to time.

Look for the brands that Darren suggested or similar. GFS are good too.

I don't know Wilkinson, but I'm not sure if I'd even bother checking them out when there are so many tried-and-tested pickups out there (not saying I wouldn't experiment, just saying that if you can only afford one or two pickups, you're better off with a safe choice).

Who's your favourite player/band, who would you like to sound like?

My other thought would be, don't spend €100 on two cheap pickups, spend it all on one really good one for the bridge, you probably spend 75% of your time there anyway...

I put two Seymour Duncans into my Epi SG a few years back, a JB in the bridge and a '59N in the neck. It's a pretty common combination and one which will give you a nice range of tones, especially for those styles.

i agree with duncans for your style of music.

emgs would be very high-gain oriented, and would give your clean an unwelcome fuzz. dimarzios generally work better with basswood guitars.

Gibson 57 classics are really nice and are perfect for what you're at. They're great clean and have a great bite with overdrive. I have a 335 with them in and they're amazing. My mate has them in his SG and they just rock out!

It depends what music your playing. Seymour Duncan are always a great option though, i have them on my telecaster and the tone is savage running through a marshall. Id say if you buy them from a local music store they will probably put them in for free. Its a quick job but iv tried it myself before and made a balls of it
