    Hey guys, I've a nice private studio set up at home and I've been getting an ok sound with little/no plugins so far but after sitting in on other studios, I can really see the benifits.

    So far, I have a PC running Adobe Audition and recording through a Line6 Toneport ux8 which i find grand up to a point. I'm considering upgrading a fair bit next summer.

    So how much would it cost for me to start of with protools(not HD or anything) and enough plugins to record a full rock band. Bare in mind my budget is near nothing!

    I'm talking mostly about plugins like good compressors, channel eq's and the beatdetectives and autotuners of the modern DAW studio.

    how much is REAPER? Heard of that before alright, never saw it in use though!
