It's one of those movies where the lead character(s) are rushing around trying to prevent some corrupt entity from causing a technological apocalypse on the world (i.e. USA).

Anyway, in one scene that has had me laughing since, the star(s) of this movie contact some computer freak for help hacking some system. While they're talking, the geeks mother starts shouting at him from outside his bedroom and he turns around and unleashes some serious profanity at her before returning to the conversation.

I've been thinking Hackers, Die Hard 4 but I really can't remember. Anyone able to recall this?

Reminded me of a couple of movies but the above rules them out :(

I think the geek in this movie is younger than Trey, the guy in Die Hard 4.

If it's any help - the geek in this movie is a extreme brat of a computer freak who needs a serious kick in the ass from his mother.

Galaxy Quest was a PG movie. This guy roared something like "STFU you f***ing wh*re" or something like that. The movie was not a comedy also, which is why that scene was surprisingly funny - it took you by surprise.

Sounds very much like a scene from the first Transformers, though I don't remember that much swearing either.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

There is no outlandish swearing in that scene though which seems to be one of the things the op recalls.

Could the film be Wargames or Wargames 2: The Dead Code, I recall some language in both films. Will dig them out later on give both a watch,
