Could Forum Mods please make lock/make this post a sticky please?

    Hi there,

As a fellow classic car enthusiast, and/or especially a classic Mini enthusiast/owner, I would like to inform you about the Irish Mini Owners Club 12th Annual Mizen to Malin (MTM) Run for 2010.

I would be grateful if you could pass on/publicise this information to your fellow classic Mini owners or club members.

Alternatively, you can access our website at http://www.irishminis.ie for further information on our club and its activities.

Of course, if your company is interested in sponsoring some aspect of our event, we won't be offended if you want to contact us!!

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

    Tony Cooney
    MTM 2010 Event Secretary

2009 saw the 50th Anniversary of the Mini, the 20th Birthday of the Irish Mini Owners Club, and the 10th Anniversary of the Irish Mini Owners Club's MTM annual run.
1999 was the 40th anniversary of the launch of the first Mini in 1959.

The Irish Mini Owners Club celebrated this important event in 1999 by organising the Mizen to Malin Reliability Run for Minis of all ages. MTM is now an annual club event & continues to be an important part of the Irish Mini scene.
As a Mini owner and enthusiast, we would like to invite you to participate in this interesting and challenging event.

Details of this event include the following:

    (1) A non-refundable entry fee of €50.00 for paid-up IMOC members (includes driver briefing, road map and route instructions, a limited breakdown service, finisher's award etc).
For non-members the entry fee is €60.
Club membership forms can be downloaded on www.irishminis.ie.
To cover currency conversion charges, Sterling cheques should be made out for £50.

    (2) A list of accommodation options for the Friday and Saturday nights will be sent out with entry form receipts along with details of how to make your accommodation booking.
Special hugely discounted club rates have been agreed with 2 hotels.

    (3) Registration & driver briefing will be held on Friday 7th May at 8.00pm.
All entrants are requested to attend this briefing.

    (4) The first Mini will leave Mizen Head on Saturday May 8th at 6.00am;

    (5) The planned route to Malin Head will involve a distance of approx 450 miles in one day, hence the early start!

    (6) A number of Passage Controls will be present on the route and participants are requested to check in at each control during the day.

    (7) A Lunch and Refuelling Halt will take place midway along the route and will be marked with the passage controls on the route map.

    (8) To facilitate late arrivals on the Saturday night, a prize-giving ceremony with presentation of finishers' awards and spot prizes will be held on Sunday morning, the 9th of May.

The event is open to Classic Minis and Classic Mini derivatives only and we would ask the participants to note the following:

    * It is important that participants ensure that their cars are in good mechanical running order and capable of completing the event;

    * A limited breakdown service will be provided throughout the event for those unfortunate to require assistance!
Details of this service will be provided at the drivers briefing on the Friday night.

    * We would remind participants that this is a non-competitive event.
It is NOT a race nor is it a rally.
All participants must observe the speed limits and Rules of the Road throughout the event.

    * All cars must have current insurance covering the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The planned route passes through scenic parts of Ireland, allowing the cars to maintain a steady pace to complete the event & we’ve tried to minimise possible delays on the route.
We hope you will join us in this challenge. We are particularly interested in having as many different Mini derivatives such as Riley Elfs, Wolseley Hornets, Mokes, Commercials etc. taking part in MTM 2010.
It won't be a race so don't feel the older or smaller-engined cars will be left behind!

If you feel you would like to participate, we would ask you to return the completed entry form & fee of €50/€60/£50 per car before Friday the 26th March 2010 to:

Tony Cooney, IMOC, 2 Abbeydale Rise, The Oaks, Lucan, Co.Dublin, Ireland.

    Telephone International: +353-1-624 9750 (H) or + 353-85-712 0727 (M)
    E-mail: antonycooney@gmail.com

Cheques/postal orders should be made out to The Irish Mini Owners Club.
We do not advise sending cash in the post.

Entries received after 26th March may be allowed BUT cannot be guaranteed so please book early to avoid disappointment.

    Hi Tony

Very best of luck with your Mini Run. I've stickied this for a day or two. After that, I don't mind if anyone bumps it every week or two until the event.

Had a brilliant time on this event this year so I will most certainly be doing it again next year.

19 entries already for this event.

Last year we had 70 Minis take part so it's looking good so far for MTM2010.
