I am considering buying a Wii during the sales. I wanna play Mario Kart, and need 2 controllers. What comes with the wii as regards controllers? And who/what is Motion +? Are the plastic wheels that come with some Mario Kart games any use? Any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks

The wii itself only comes with one controller, most sale packages you get when your buying includes the wii play game which is just diabolical but comes with a free controller. The plastic wheels make a huge difference when you playing any driving game on the wii. MarioKart itself comes with one in the box, the special Nintendo one but you can get third party ones very easily very cheaply.

As for Wii motion + plus I've personally never used it and I wouldn't buy it for my own wii, it consists of a bit of plastic that you add on to the end of the wiimote, as far as I'm concerned if it's any good or not is beyond the point cause once you add on that little bit of plastic the wiimote will no longer fit into any of the peripherals i.e the plastic wheel or the guitar hero or rock band stuff.

With the Wii comes one controller and an attachable nunchuck, Wii Play(Or is it Wii sports?) also comes with a remote and often this game comes in a deal or very cheaply

Mario Kart is best played with the plastic steering wheels which the remote fits into, they arent necessary but makes is more playable, easier and gives it a more realistic feeling of driving.

IF you have a wireless internet connection in your house you can go online with the wii (plenty of options here! too many to explain), but also you can play Mario Kart against other players online, which is safe for younger people too, -no chat option, just good old fashioned fun!

If you dont have a PS3 or an Xbox, you can buy Guitar Hero (just got this myself for Christmas) and i am a bit biased here. but i think that its an excellent game! it is a bit costly at first- you'll want 2 Guitars but like mario kart there are hours of fun it it!
but, if you DO have a ps3 or an xbox, i wouldnt recommend Guitar hero for the wii, it is better on the other consoles.

I also have the Wii motion Plus,it is used on certain games and it uses more exact movements to play the games. i do think this thing is a waste of money, i wouldnt recommend it. the main game to play with it is Wii Sports Resort- good at first but quickly gets boring, and if you have two contollers you'll need a second motion plus device -more money!

Also, you may want to buy contollers with plug-in rechargers or you can buy the normal ones and you need to buy really good rechargeable batteries and a charger (worth it IMO!)
