Can anyone recommend anywhere in Dublin for eyelash extensions? How much did you pay and how long did they last?

    Hi All,

I've had some very mixed experiences getting lash extensions. Firstly a lot of places advertising lash extensions are not proper extensions and you only get a few days/week out of them. Proper extensions should look good for about 3-4 weeks- even if they claim 8 weeks it's unlikely you will get that long out of them.

Novalash and Extreme lash brands are very popular- came in from the US. A girl in Belfast used the extreme brand on me and they were awful- looked ok but they were very sharp and irritated my eyes. However the girl fitting them was not great- she only took one hour and wasn't careful to make sure each extenion was fitted to only one lash. It should take 2 hours as it's such a precise process!

I got them done in a place in wicklow (travelled from howth based on great reviews) called uptomyeyes. She was great- so exact. It cost 90 euro I think but she spent well over 2 hours. It's all she does really so she's very specialised. She learnt her trade in Oz years ago and gets her supplies directly from Korea- Korean girls have been doing it years.

While I loved them I hate how they come out, I myself would need to get them refilled every 2/3 weeks as I sleep on my side and my lashes seem to grow very quick. However they do look fab- mine are almost out now and I can't believe how bare they look!

Dario28- the brand you use seems good- and I can't justify travelling to Greystones every mth!! How long does it take for you to apply the lashes?

    Hi,

I am the eyelash extension specialist Dario28 recommended. Amanda I apply the lash extensions in approximately 2 hours for a full set as it is time consuming work. I apply on average 60-80 lashes per eye and refills are recommended every 2 -3 weeks for everyday wear since your lashes naturally fall out and renew themselves.

Take a look at my website www.getlashed.vpweb.co.uk for my details. I am based in Portmarnock so you can come to me or if you would like me to travel to you then thats not a problem.

I trained with Lash Perfect in the UK and only practice this treatment on my clients, take a look at www.lashperfect.co.uk for more details on the procedure.

I charge €60 for a full set which is a lot more reasonable than the salons as I don't have any overheads.

Let me know if you want to book an appointment or need additional details.

    Thanks
    Kim

Hi is it 80 lashes per eye for 60euro or 60 lashes for 60euro? do you use mink fur? do you charge anything for house calls and do you offer any other procedures?

Its 60-80 lashes per eye for €60. I can spend up to 3 hours making sure every single lash is extended which would cost €80.

I don't use real minks as these can cause an allergic reaction to some people. I use a synthetic material called faux mink which look and feel the same as real minks, they are light weight and very dark.

I don't charge for house calls.

    I don't offer other treatments sorry. :)

oh ok thanks 'up to my eyes' offers 200 lashes per eye thats why i asked. Maybe they put two fake lashes on one of your lashes? can you take a break during the 3 hours? can you apply 60 first and if you want more then apply more?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 KimLouise83

Up To My Eyes offer real minks which can be layered on top of each other, you cannot do that with synthetics and most people wouldn't have 200 lashes on each eye.
Yes I can take a break and see if you want more put in.

Serenacat- they look great!! Plus I honestly didn't even realise Uptomyeyes used real mink fur untill I was in the middle of getting them done there. When they come out you won't believe how short your own lashes feel!! KimLouise- it's my 30th at the end of Feb so I'll give you a shout that week to get mine done. You're only down the road from me too so it will save me travelling to Wicklow!!
Serenacat- did you pay extra to get the 3 hours work done or was 2 hours all it took for that effect?

I have had semi permanent eyelash extensions done twice in Urbana Wicklow Street last summer. They were very good and I found that they lasted about 3 weeks before I needed to have them touched up. Prices were €100 for the full set and €70 or the refill would recommend them for a special occasion. They do also have 50% special offers on every now and again so it might be worth checking out. www.urbana.ie

    Hi,
Uptomyeyes do not charge 150-500 (and she is highly skilled- some technicians just do a day course!!). She sources her products directly from Korea- where this started. Rather than using a company like Novalash which charge a huge mark up. I agree it is a skill and so many people are marketing eyelash extensions when they are not at all! I know novalash is a great product, however you can get them done for 100-120. Agree much less than this does not mean good value- prob means less lashes or a more rushed job or not the real thing.

12 weeks is a long time. I find I only get 7/8 weeks of them looking good as I sleep on one side.

Seems like there are alot of really talented people offering the service, unfortunatly most are not in my price range! :(

www.thelashbar.ie done them for €30, and used to have an online '2 for 1' deal so you could get them for €15 if you booked with a friend, but seems they are not in powerscourt anymore.. does anyone know of anywhere in dublin (city centre) that does them for a similar price (30) ?

If you go to the lash bar they only offer the cluster lashes which are designed to last 4-5 days and they also only spend 20-30 mins on you and charge €30. That's fine if that's what your looking for but if you wanted something a little more natural looking and last at least 2-3 weeks before needing refills then it is definitely worth paying a little extra for the actual individual ones in my opinion.
I would spend 1.5 hours on a full set of individuals (not clusters) covering every lash and only charge €50-60. I know its a little out of your price range but its certainly a fair price. PM me if you would like any more details.

Re getlashes site, go for it. I got my lashes done for the first time with this therapist back in January. Wasn't blessed with long or full lashes so was really looking forward to getting them done. I was and still amazed with the results. I get them re-filled every 2-3 weeks and can't go without them now. She's brilliant at what she does, very professional. It's so relaxing getting them done. Money well spent imo. Give it a go..

I started using serum from M2Beaute and I am delighted with results. It is german made and friend of mine told me that now you can get it in Ireland too.( www.m2beaute.ie ) .I used to wear eyelash extensions but they ruined my natural eyelashes. The serum is for 16 weeks treatment ,I noticed differens after 4 weeks .My lashes sre now much longer and fuller yelrotflmaosmilie.gifyelrotflmaosmilie.gif
If you are looking for something what gives a naturall look. They also have product for brows , dont know about it but I'll definitely try it in future
