    What recommend ye?

It seeds to be easily stowable (i.e. can be broken down easily), easily transportable (not massive panels) and freestanding (for the most part).

Oh, and its for use for tracking (in case that wasn't clear).

    Hi ,
I use the Ghost range of products including the gobo stand , its well worth a look - performs very well and modular. You can mount them on walls, ceilings and free standing. Also can be made to 3 different heights and very reasonable price for performance.
Your welcome to come and check them out at studio
    Cheers,

Interesting, Declan, I had looked at the Ghost stuff already, and in terms of what I am looking for it seems to be designed with that in mind. That said, looking at the price of the basic panel (60 x 60 cm), I am thinking that the GIK stuff would give me more for my money.

Duvets! They fold up really well.

    Did you try hit it?

Yeah, I've used duvets before, but I'm not so sure of their performance down below 100hz ;-)

Otherwise, I don't know what you mean by "did I try hit it"?

I'm also considering going the homemade route, a bit of rockwool in a few frames.

The GIK stuff is high performance but I wouldn't be moving around too much.
Ghost look a bit tougher, no idea on the performance.
DIY is very easy if you can find the right materials.

Isover High Performance Duct Cladding panels. Wrap them in fabric. Sprayglue it tight. Decent looking, similar performance to RealTraps and GIK products.
RockSilk RS100 makes a nice stiff panel also.
With a bit of ingenuity these can be free stood on mic stands.
