Sony vaio notebook won't start

    I got a sony vaio VPCW yesterday but when I try to start it up I get the message

    'The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.'

    I've restarted it about ten times and keep getting the same message. It's the first time I've turned it on. I'm not sure if this is the right forum but has anyone any ideas on what to do? :(
