got a second hand wii for my daughter.... and the darn thing will connect to the internet , but won't allow me to use the wii shopping cannel and other channels..... it tells me that the wii connect 24 is not on...... and when i try to do this it tells me that the user agreement must be filled out....... yet when i try to connect to that.... it ony asks me if i want to/or not to connect to wii connect 24...... either option brings me nowhere with the agreement is no where to be seen..... please help during all this i have tested my connection and it is connected.... and has even updated itself..:confused:

Hmmmmm sometimes you have to accept the user agreement more than once (happened to me anyway). I think all you have to do is go to > Wii System Settings > Internet Settings > User Agreement , Click yes when it asks you if you want to connect to Wii Connect 24 + Wii channels....... the It asks you to accept or decline the agreement.
You could also try going to > Wii System Settings > Wii Connect 24 > wiiconnect24 and select on.
Otherwise Im out of ideas.... Hope this helps.

thanks for that...your first suggestion is great right up to the last step....... i clck on yes to connect........ and then it trys to connect, and then tells me that i need to agree to the agreement......but still no sign of the agreement..... will try your second suggestion shortly but have a sneaky feeling that the end result will be the same... thanks for your help

just tried option two... it told me that i needed to accept the agreement, i then clicked on ok.... it then tried to connect to the internet.... and to me that these services are not been currently been offered..... i'm presuming that there been offered to other users on other consoles

it does pass the connection test.... but wont allow me to get access to any of the channels..... some say that they are not currently being offered.... and others are saying that i need access to wiiconnect24.... which in turn is telling me that i need to accept the agreement..... but i'm not being given an option to accept anything.... i have done what you said and have tried to find soloutions on many a web site.. to no avail

Hmmm when you are after selecting Agreement/Contact, What happens? does it return you to The wii menu or do you get asked 'would you like to connect to'... etc ? Because after that there should be a copy of the agreement which you can then scroll through....
Also what Fw vesion are you on? Mine is the 4.2E the latest. If yours isnt you could try updating it again?

Oh woops seems to me that cantgetright may have solved your problem.

Your very welcome there is a new thing run by nintendo where if someone helps you connect the wii to the internet, you can add there friendcode making them an ambassador. Ths means you both get 500 wii points which can then be redeemed in thge wii shop channel.

So if your up for it im sure cantgetright will take 500 wii points? If he's not too keen then I'll become your ambassador.

You can surf the internet with the internet channel, buy virtual console games (games from super nintendo, n64, sega genesis, nes e ct...) and wii ware games. Also if you have a DS or DSi you can download ds demos from the nintendo channel

    see here:

Basically when you connect your Wii to the internet a whole host of new features become available to you such as messaging friends wii's, downloading classic games or new wiiware titles (from the Wii Shop Channel. You can also download other channels such as an internet browser. The DSi has similar features.
If you need any help setting up your internet connection I will help you
