DC1 Integra stolen Christmas Night

    Hello all.

Some scumbags stole my friends 1998 white Honda Integra 1.6 from his driveway last night, Christmas night. It was stolen in the Killester area, he says he had barely any petrol in it so they can't have gone all that far, and it's pretty unlikely they would have filled her up.

    The reg is 98-D-79673

It's a white DC1 with the square headlights (not the spots), yellow foglights, plain hubcaps, pretty sure he had red Honda badges on it, and a blue Buddy Club sticker on the driver's door. The Buddy Club exhaust will give the car the car away, meant to be pretty loud, he could hear them ragging around the streets last night when they'd taken it.

It hasn't been seen or found yet, I guess they've parked it up somewhere unassuming and just walked. If it was written off or burnt out it would have been reported.

3 Garda stations in the area have been put on notice, but I'm just asking some of you guys to keep an eye out for it. And the sickening thing is his last car was stolen from the same spot 4 months ago. Fúcking scumbags.

Pics below, thanks, taken the day he bought it so it's without any of the mods listed above, they're the only pics I have.

Good luck finding it, scum
Want this put up over on DTD?

I'll keep an eye out. With AVPR in most Traffic Corp cars now it should be picked up pretty quick.

Just wondering, in the second pic, where is the tax disc as it appears empty? Or perhaps its just the pic?

    Cheers mate.

I don't know whether the car was taxed or not when he got it, which is when the pic was taken, but it was fully taxed when it was nicked!

Did he not have an alarm on it after having another car stole just 4 months ago?

A Dc1 would only be stolen for a bit of joyriding I'd say I doubt it was anyone after parts or anything so as you say its probably abandoned somewhere, is there any fields or anything in the area where stolen cars tend to end up?

Really? Do you not think there are more pressing issues? Such as the theft of a car?

but i suppose...an untaxed car is the bigger crime!

I'd imagine as they pics are only from when he first bought and picked up the car there was no tax on it?

Either way hopefully he gets it back in one piece and as undamaged as possible, bastards everywhere these days. Was there no alarm or immobiliser fitted to the car or did they have the keys??

Just an observation! And by no means being a pest or anything. I have zilch respect for un-taxed / un-insured cars.

But I am in NO way suggesting the OP / OP's friends car is untaxed etc.

Anyways, back on thread and I hope they find it.

The chances of getting the car back are slim to none, in my area there was over 15 done up cars robbed in 2 months and not one was recovered!! My friend had her type r stolen and the guards told her it was probably robbed for parts

I don't see this post as helpful, you're just saying that the OP will not get his car back, as if it;s a 100% chance he wont?

Why would you not just give well wishes rather than a story about somebody else that was unfortunate, I'm sure the OP doesn't want to hear this?

Its a sad fact that most cars here arn't returned. However, I think the tides are turning and if I had to put money on this one I'd say you have a 70% chance of getting it back provided it hasn't left the country.

It's hardly left the country, not exactly what would be done with a DC1.

uninsured...yep..I'd see your point, but you're not gonna be able to tell. Untaxed...wouldnt view it as a crime. Especially considering he just bought the car. And yes...my car is taxed 99% of the time.

hope the car is recovered..its a nice one. people have no respect for others belongings sometimes.

Too all the petty numpties querying the tax status of the car (based upon photos pretty obviously taken immediately after purchase), please do us all a favour and gtfo.

My GF's DC2 Type-R was robbed from here a month ago, very little petrol in it and the little toe rags sent mates to the nearest garage to get petrol.

I suggest you try around the back roads of the airports and usual places were burnt out cars appear.
I also suggest you try the closest garages that were open to see if anyone bought petrol in a Jerry Can. (That worked for us and we caught one fo them).

Was the car recovered? What sort of condition did it come back in?

Nope, still missing. 2 lads involved, 1 pulled a runner and I haven't heard anything about them questioning the other lad they caught yet. They only picked him up yesterday I believe for a different thing but said they will find out about the car. :(

99.9% sure i've seen this Integra yesterday parked up in a housing Estate in Tallaght drivers door was bent back.. It was in an area called Kilmartin tough council estate area burned out cars all over the place. OP i will take a spin over there if you like to see if it is still where i think i seen it. I was parked off side up the top of a cul de sac hidden behind an aul banged up transit.

Found my nephews Accord parked up here last year and that was robbed in Rush. I live about 10 minutes from this estate so i will pop over in a while for you likely hood is they will keep it going till they screw fcuk out of it or take a chase in it, burning is the last resort.

No need to be a smart ****e, it could've been burnt out or the Gardai could have gotten them in time before too much damage was done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,753 ✭✭✭qz

Thanks for all the help and support lads, he rang me saying the Gardaí found it on Sherrif St. yesterday with the driver's door damaged but apart from that I don't think there was much done to the car, which is a far cry from when his Vtec Civic was stolen - it got wrapped around a lamppost all the way down in Bray when it was taken from Killester.

pokerface_me thank you very much for offering, but it's in the Gardaís possession now, but it had to be the same one by the way you described the driver's door.

He is lucky to have it recovered but in a way it'll never be the same to him, I know I wouldn't like to drive the car again after those cúnts got their hands on it, so I can't imagine what it would be like to be its owner. He's not so sure that he'll hang onto it, and it's nothing to do with the attention a quick car would get from a thieving scrote, its just that to him it feels like his girlfriend's been raped or something. I, and I'm sure most of you here would understand where he's coming from.

But that's for another day. Thanks to all who expressed their sympathies and offered their help. It's nice to know petrolheads watch out for eachother!

    Stay safe, Mark.

At least it was recovered, Can understand about not wanting to keep it though anymore, wouldn't be the same, at least with a new door he can sell it on and buy something else. Not often you hear a happy ending!

    Both posters infracted.

These are inflammatory statements, they add nothing to the discussion/thread and only serve to offend people.

Can everyone leave these kind of posts at the door?

broken for parts or getaway car are the usual task as they'll leave a mondeo for dust.

    hope this didn't happen though
