apologies in advance for my presumption, but is it just me or are dublin's clubs a bit **** really? im talking about the actual venues, as opposed to the nights/atmosphere etc. as in a lot of clubs ive been to are just old buildings converted, so the sound is crap and its tiny. i know that a smaller venue can mean intimate crowd, which gives a positive vibe, but what im saying is that we don't have any big clubs, like say matter or fabric in london. crawdaddy with its 3 rooms and say twisted pepper are the only ones that spring to mind for medium sized clubs, please correct me if im wrong though, as i said im fairly ignorant to this, just making a personal observation is all.

of course that raises another question, is there a market for a super club as such? the dance scene is alot smaller here that other cities(bastard licensing laws!) what are people's thoughts?

We do have big clubs, (Tripod + Wright Venue) the only problem is in the case of the Wright Venue they have to appeal to the mainstream to stay a viable business. Anyway I much rather the smaller clubs like TP and Kennedys.

In my opinion most Irish clubs are c**p...there are a few I really like D2, Button Factory + the Wright Venue spring to mind but other than that most of them are tiny.

I know what people are saying about London clubs being amazing but Dublin is alot smaller + aswell if there are any trendy clubs in Dublin they wouldn't do well because students take up most of the club scene + students are broke!

At the same time though I don't like clubs that are too big where you end up losing people (i.e The Academy) but there is such a thing as clubs being WAY too small (Buck Whaleys )
