may i first whish all the zombie hunters a merry christmas!! i hope we all got our apocalypse supplys, im very happy with my life time supply of tinned fruit and crossbow :):)

now, i was just wondering if it is possible that zombies have a sort of 6th sense.... i mean like if your hiding in a room would the zombie sense you or just keep moving?

probably makes no sense but id be glad to know your opinions

pheromones are still based on smell. if thats what zombies rely on, cut off their noses [for the smartasses, yes, ok, destroy their sinuses then.]

If you're that close why not just kill them?

    FOR SCIENCE!!!!

But, seriously we need to know how they work and what their capabilities are so research is a crucial and should be started as early as possible.

God forbid decapitation doesn't work and we think it does, lots of people going to be lost to that booboo.

Also,Merry Christmas,I hope zombie santa brought something nice

What if they only movement registers with their eyesight? Could you get away with standing still in their line of view?

I would say they don't have a 6th sense (except that we all do- balance!) however their senses are much more... directed than ours. Highly attuned to the smell of flesh- noise of humanity etc etc.

    ooh,contraversial!!

Personally,I don't think a sixth-sense is what it is.Just that they don't comprehend anything other than signs of life. They have only human abilities, just that they are entirely focused on the one objective[feeding] whereas any normal human cannot get this lelve of solidarity in purpose at any point in life.

If you look at humans as animals[leaving out our technology and logic skills] we'd be pretty handy as a predator, that's what I'd try and base my zombie tactics against.

There's more than five senses. I think there's eleven.

There are between nine and twenty-one human senses, depending on who you ask, and how they define a sense. It is generally agreed that nine is the minimum. These are touch, taste, smell, sight, hearing, thermoception, nociception, equilibrioception, and proprioception. Hunger and thirst are also sometimes included. Generally, for something to qualify as a sense requires a free-standing sense organ associated with it. A sensory apparatus' primary source of information should be force data originating from outside the brain.
