Happy Christmas everyone! But enough of the niceties and politeness, let's get to the good stuff! Was Santa good to you? ;)

I got a Korg Pitchblack tuner and NanoKontrol controller. I'm all setup for recording now :)

    Have a good day!

Not much this year, just a Boss DD3 digital delay to add to my small collection of discrete pedals.

I picked up a 1989 Ibanez RG550 a few months ago which constituted my christmas gift. Sent it into a guitar tech to get her all set up over christmas. Getting her back at the beginning of January.

Sexy! Asked my friend to pick me up one in the states earlier today so hopefully i'll have one come next week:)

Thomann were looking for ~€45 + Del. for a feckin piece of plastic!

~$30 from the states for the genuine fender one!

Yea the pricing is stupid for them. I could have sworn i saw them in x-music at a fair price. Theres 2 different types of pic guard(i think) from fender. You should make sure you get the right one. My gf had to take home 2 different ones. One of them didnt fit, and had screw holes where there was no screws, the other fit perfect.

I got her up in Derry off another Ibanez fanatic. Its tough to find one in any sort of condition nevermind top condition like this is! It was love at first sight. I won't give you a figure in case I ever want to let her go, but he gave me a good deal considering it is kitted with a beautiful new case, which is 100euro new, and the 3 pickups are custom DiMarzios, D sonic in the bridge, EVO in the neck and the middle single coil is actually another humbucker, a fastrack. Altogether the pups would have cost 250-300euro alone.

thats 450-500 euro worth of gear before we start talking about the guitar itself! Which as you might know are legendary. 1980s RGs are the business.

    Thanks for the kind words!

Ah jaysus I have a 3 ply black Fender jazz pickguard (real deal) still in its pack. I bought it for my bass but decided not to put a pickguard on. :o

Cheers! They're always handy to have around anyway incase one breaks.. although, iv only ever smashed precision gaurds around the poxy jack!

Still, nice to have a spare if you decide to sell on. Did you assemble your own bass or just thought it was nicer without a gaurd at all?

...Dont actually suppose anyone has a cheap black precision pickgaurd laying around? Only thought of an old p i've lying around thats half re-done.

Let me know if you're ever stuck for it. I'll probably just keep it in case I ever need it.

I got Derrick Nelson to assemble it for me. I prefer the no pickguard look, looks pretty sweet without a bunch of excess holes.

click here to see it :)
