    Hi there.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to go about applying for GP training in the UK. Are you eligible to apply after your intern year here in Ireland or do you need to do a SHO year also because their internship takes like two years over there?

    Mod Note.

I moved this to its own new thread, as I reckoned that it wouldn't get much of a response where it was.

OP: Please don't drag up an ancient thread to ask a question that's not really connected to the original subject. Thanks.

    sorry for late reply

saw your post last week but knew it was probably too late - deadline was supposed to be 20th December - might be worth chancing your arm and seeing will they accept an application

    all the info here

good question re eligibility after intern year

the main thing that they need is evidence that you have achieved "foundation competencies" - if you go into the FAQ section and look at eligibility there is more info. In the past it could take as a little as a 4 page letter/list of procedures etc exposed to and signed by an Irish consultant to be enough

    but I don't know tbh
