Fruit sandwiches anyone?

I was eating a banana sandwich yesterday and it got me thinking..... what other fruit would you eat in a sandwich?
I know some will say tomatoes, are they fruit or veg? And yes, I am aware of jam, be it strawberry, blackcurrant etc., but you wouldn't just chop up a strawberry and slap it on the bread and eat it, would you?
So what other fruit would you eat between slices of bread???

I've never tried anything other than a banana in a sandwich.
What you do is get an apple, orange, mandarin a few grapes etc, you cut them up and mix them with natural yogurt ;)

My brother eats pineapple sandwiches with cheese and ham. He says they're lovely. *Shudder*.

I'm just a banana sandwich person myself. :D

Banana and tomato are the only fruit I'd put in a sandwich.

Bit of salt on the tomato works well but the banana needs nothing.

And yes - a tomato is a fruit.

I don't like the way the juices make the bread soggy, Banana sambo and crisps FTW

Not a sambo, but eat a banana next time you're having a cup of coffee...or next time you eat a banana lightly salt it. ;)

Strawberry sandwiches are yum. Strawberry jam + sliced strawberries (and bananas if you like) in a baguette.

    Bread - cheese - ham - pineapple - that's basically just a Hawaiian pizza!

Still wouldn't eat it myself though.

I love banana sandwiches, but weirdly, only on hot days in summer. I think they remind me of picnics when I was little or something!

And to be a pedantic fecker, technically a banana is not a fruit, but a herb;)
