There should be no reason why you can't post, there are no users awaiting approval.

As for your bill it looks like you exceeded your allowance and got charged the overage fee.

    Hello all,

I'm just after receiving a bill from O2 for over 100 euro. I use internet pretty much every day but I've never been near my limit before. And now I've gone 3.5Gb over!!!

Is it possible someone is stealing my bandwidth? I don't know to much about this kind of stuff so if someone could point me in the right direction I'd like to learn more.

Also, I'm billed 17th of month until 17th of next month.

When I log onto O2.ie and check my usage for this month it's telling me I've used 9Gb. Thats for less than 12 days usage!!!

But when I check my O2 Broadband statistics on my desktop application it is telling me for the year, 1st Jan until now I've used only 6GB??

How can there be such a difference??

Anyone able to shead any light on this??

    Thanks in advance,

    WM

for billing issues, you're going to need to contact O2. No one else can answer those questions accurately.

Where is the confusion? They issue a bill on a particular date, and you have to pay by some later date? You don't expect the bill to be paid on that day of issue, do you?

No, unless you've given the modem to someone else, or you have a wireless router attached to it. You'll need to contact O2 for everything else.

 Who said anything about bill being paid on day of issue???
My point is the pay date is getting earlier each month

Let me tell you a little story.

The o2 bandwidth monitoring software is wrong and unreliable. They take the numbers off of their own books, but only by seeing how much the modem has transferred. I know this for a fact, because I got a bill of over 500 euro one month. However, I found out something rather interesting.

It first came to light about 4 days into that particular month, where I had a day off work. I was doing light browsing for most of that day, and for a 3 hour period had moved away from the laptop. When I came back, I continued to browse, until I went to disconnect that evening. 3.7GB?! you gotta be kidding. Done a virus scan quickly. Clean. My windows automatic updates were disabled. I knew 6.7gb wasnt right.

So anyway, I made it my duty the next morning to download not one, but TWO different traffic monitoring software, so I could have 3 different end of day bandwidth totals. The end of the day came, and surely o2 broadband told me I had racked up 2.1GB of bandwidth. Went to check the two bandwidth monitors. Both had registered about 380mb worth.

So with that, I grabbed screenshots of the end of day totals, and continued to do so, day in, day out, until I got that bill of over 500 euro. Mad as a hatter, I rang up and demanded an explanation. They said it was clear to them that I had exceeded my limit. My daily screenshots totalled me in at 9.2GB for that month. So I asked for a supervisor, grabbed his email, and emailed every single bit of detail I had.

Never had to pay that bill. And never, NEVER went over my limit for the 10 months that proceeded that.

So, I'm just letting you folks know. That o2 traffic monitoring is NOT accurate at all. :)

You all MAY or MAY NOT have a case though. But look into it, thats all I can say really

With them two and a half years in the parents' house, the most they ever went over was 10.3gb and got a warning for it via text message.

Most months it's used every day for light-medium browsing, usually around 3GB by the end of the month
