There is always one it seems, this year its a Galway couple who have been brought to a special court sitting and charged with multiple counts of rape, neglect, cruelty of their children. Miserable.

    Galway couple charged with neglect
    Thursday, 24 December 2009 13:09

A Co Galway couple in their 40s have appeared at a special sitting of Galway District Court on charges of cruelty and neglect of their children.

The man was also charged with ten counts of rape against four daughters.

The man was charged with ten counts of rape against four daughters. In reply to these charges he said 'I didn't do it.

The couple, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested at their home in Co Galway shortly before 7.30am this morning and taken to a garda station.

The man was also charged with two counts of cruelty and neglect of a son, his wife was charged with 18 counts of cruelty and neglect of her children.

She replied only to the final charge saying: 'it's not true'.

The charges relate to a 12-year period from 1997 to date.

Judge Geoffrey Browne remanded the couple to a special sitting of Ennis District Court on 29 December.

Both the husband and wife deny the charges.

Maybe the start for a happier period for the children, good luck to them.

if the father had been wearing a priest's collar while raping the children he would have been immune to prosecution.

Sadly I know of other depressing cases but I don't wish to continue a downer thread for the time of year that it is.
Will save it for another time.

Will simply say to those effected by possible similar events, if your out there and getting abused, please seek help when and if you can.
All the best. I hope next year is a brighter one.

I think you'll find that that 1983 calender you have is out of date.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.
