so bought a ticket for that raffle. my number is 214869 i pressume thats how many are sold so far. am i right in assuming this? any know the maths of it too. 20 euro a pop and numbers... some maths nerd hit me with a data analysis? that wud be good but my main question is the overall point. im starting my own raffle next year to rival it. cheaper and more money to the man. i earn my crust too.

I don't know anything about this millionaire raffle, but I don't think you should assume 214869 tickets have been sold.

I work in IT and I frequenty see codes for things which aren't based on numbers alone.

For example, 214869 might be broken down as follows:

    21 means Dublin.
    4869 means the ticket number.

If you know what I mean...

fair jews. but i think that number would be close to how many would be sold. thats why i would stick to assumption. i dont know the percentage of people who play lotto. do they release such data? possibly nobody has bothered to do a survey but i assumption2 its high. put that in your c drive and smoke it! I continue to assume after your post. I pressume the reasonable man is still assuming the same as me after readin your post. its a stupid raffle nobody so enter. give the 20 to a street bum instead or the ticket.

The oul few pints are grand alright ;)

So the Lotto have made almost €4.3m already off this raffle according to you? And they only pay €1m? Get outta here!

    I'm indignant...

Read the National Lottery's Annual Report - it's available on their website. It gives details on the amount paid out each year and on the amount going to charity.

The National Lottery has a pay out rate (IIRC) somewhere over 50%. For instance in 2008, they had sales of E840 million and paid out E455 million.

Hahaha nice try "honest" dan. You want to minimise the number of people playing the millionaire raffle to maximise your chances.

Well I've just bought 20 tickets. I'll send you a postcard from Barbados when I'm a millionaire. Seriously. Just give me your address.

I spent 100 quid on tickets and seen the show live for the first time that slieven Mooney said that they are not going to spin the drum as they have done it thousands of times already then why not once more for the viewers how would that hurt. They have all there friends and family on the top it is a load of bull. One spin of the drum would not make any difference if they were doing it fairly. Just a load of crap. And I would like to get onto radio stations or people to blog on facebook a petition to boycott the lotto as the are con artists. And KPMG and there survelliance should be got rid of. everyone knows accountants can be con artists as well. What a load of dog ****.

Yes, and lotteries are also described as a tax on stupid people

Haha it's always fixed if YOU don't win, isn't that right?

I'm just after checking the winning tickets on the lotto website and it turns out I've won a generous amount... If it's fixed Mr. Mooney must like me!

The conspiracty forum is around here somewhere, but I do know that this is not it.

Lotto topics not great here either imo.
