Heya folks, merry christmas to ye all.

Just wondering have any of you ever boarded in Scotland? They seem to have some good snow there at the moment and I'm thinking of trying to get a few days over there monies permitting.

    Couple of other queries,
Would it be cheaper to fly or get the ferry?
    Where would I fly to?
Is it easy to rent gear there?
    Any recommendations on acomodation?
Is there camp sites to park up a camper with power and showers etc?

Go raibh maith agat and have a good christmas.

    OTB.

There are a few campsites in/near aviemore which is right beside cairngorm ski area. Was there last january and there were lots of campers around.
Some good backcountry up there too but booking to far in advance is a risk as the snow is so unpredictable. If you get good conditions it can as good as anywhere.
If you are flying, its about a two hour drive from edinburgh. Lots of accommodation in aviemore and the surrounding towns. A few places to rent gear as well.
