    Thats a 6 port U320 Scsi right?

You'd need to swap the backplane with an SAS one which fits (probably a spare part from a 2950 or similar might fit), the scsi controller (assuming that the server you have has PCI express raisers to allow you to plug in a Serial attached scsi card into the 4 or 8 lane pci express slot at the back of the PC.)
You'd need to swap the drive trays (again dell spare parts from a 2950).

And bring a multilane SAS cable from the SAS card to the backplane. Probably a seperate cable to control the lights on the backplane from the SAS card also.

Is this current server running an operating system that you need to clone onto the new disks?

Don't think that you'll be saving much money by the end of that by going to sata.
