+1. If any broadcaster has put big money into this and isn't broadcasting it within a day of the first broadcast worldwide they're exceptionally stupid.

I cant wait for this. I loved Band Of Brothers, Generation Kill was a slight disappointment, but I reckon this is gonna be great. I didn think it was gonna be completed until March 2010?

But wiki says that Stephen Ambrose WILL serve as project consultant... He died in 2002. So I'm not sure how up to date the page is.

RTE might pick up the rights? I'd love to see BBC get the rights (for no ads, and in HD) but Im guesing Sky got the rights for the UK.

    A few spoilers above.
Positive vibes, lack of clichés, etc. Sounds promising. :)

I cannot wait for this programme. Band of Brothers is my favourite of all time, I've watched it through two or three times now and it never gets old. This is going to be even better. You can't go wrong with Hanks, Spielberg some good actors and wad loads of cash to splash on the rest. Pity it's on Sky Movies though, I got it out about a year ago. May have to wait for it on DVD, or find a "friend" whom I can get a loan of it off.

I'm not so sure it'll be better than Band of Brothers but all it needs to be is on par with it - if they can give us the same level of quality, it'll be an amazing show. I'm very much looking forward to it too.

What will our options be for watching this in Ireland? Sky movies or nothing?
