Anyone know if the roads will be gritted on xmas eve/xmas morning?
I have to travel from the west to Dublin on xmas morning.
I'm a bit wary with the weather being the way it is.

It's supposed to rain on xmas eve so that'll bring the temp up a bit, if the primary roads are bad though they'll grit them

If the worst comes to the worst you could always get a lift with Chris Rea.

    Horse!! get a fcuking grip

1.. If the roads are icy the National routes will be gritted.

2.. If it is not icy they wont!!

3.. Ring the focking AA on the day

4.. Nobody here can see the future.

Its always a case of spot the car if you go out driving on Xmas day.Usually not many people go out round my way for fear of knocking some kid on their new BMX/rollerblades/motorbike over!

Any major road should be fine.
    Back roads, not so fine.

which year was it when there were 24 crashes on the M50 on christmas day ?

    the basic rules still apply

drive no faster than you can safely stop in the distance you can see to be clear
and if you see someone who has slid off the road , change t a lowr gear and slow down

Christmas day is also the time of year that idiots will chance driving with a few thinking that the Gardai will be off duty.
