    personally, NONE

You are better off using your hands, any glove will only increase the risk of knock ons

Hmm, thinking of getting a pair for my nephew as a present, at least it would give him the opportunity to find out if they suit him or not.
I'm sure they'll end up in the bottom of the kit bag anyway!
Just want to get him the best all rounder pair.

Would gloves help out a ballboy in the wet?

If he is a young lad he'll probably be more interested in the brand e.g., canterbury. Have a look around Elvery's and maybe ask the assistants for suggestions.

Yes they would, but if you're playing with them and you get mud on the grip they get destroyed fairly quickly.

Personally try not to wear them but if its a really wet match they can be very useful when lineout lifting

Yeah i'd really tell that to Sebastien Chabal or Lawrence Dallaglio...

Gloves are ok for lineout lifting, bit more grip on the shorts like...
