    Hi,
I've an OptiPlex GX240, XP sp3. When I plug in any usb device nothing happens.
I cheched device manager and I've got 2 uninstalled PCI device's.
I've checked the dell webpage with my TAG and tried to install the chipset that was available but it said the current chipset I had was up to date.

Can anyone explain to me how I get the drivers I need to get my usb devices working

As a matter of interest have you tried another usb port?
    Were they working previously?

    Can you run usbdeview from
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

If you have a number of unidentified devices, you might identify one from another using the vendor and/or device codes from http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids

If it's an old computer, XP can build up a list of old USB drivers which can interfere with correct detection of other USB devices.
This program can help you remove some of these but be careful only to delete devices you have no further use for, and where you can replace the drivers if a mistake is made.
