    Hello all,

can anyone who has hunted wild pig in Europe recommend an outfitter please?

It would also be great to hear of any hunting experiences.

    Thank you,

    P.

Tomo Svetic at artemis hunting, dont waste your time and money going anywhere else, the best by far, completley wild free range boar, no trophy fees or hidden costs, and great operator, i know lots of guys that have gone to various other outfits and there is always extra money or some other drama, i have been on hunts the last two years with Artemis and am going back next year, pm if you want number or just look up website.

    Thanks for the reply!

Couple of questions if you don't mind.

    1. Were you able to bring back a trpohy to Ireland? If so, can a full head mount be arranged?
#2. Were you able to bring back any meat from the hunt? I know that a fully grown boar doesn't taste that good, but the sows I shot in the US were some of the best pork meat I've tasted.

    Thanks.

Yes you can bring tusks or they will organise full mount, two big tuskers shot this year on our hunt and both getting mounted, i didnt ask about bringing meat back but while you are there you will be eating boar and venison morning noon and night, i dont think there would be a problem with artemis giving you meat the problem might arise at the airport, you would need to talk to Tomo himself, we brought our own guns this year but they also have some very tasy hardware over there for you to use, semi auto 30-06 and the like. top spot.
Well worth a call as i know the gun dealer i use went to croatia with a different outfitter and had not got a good word to say about it, weas ripped off, he going to try tomo next year.

If you are going with a different crowd make sure you are clear on the charges and small print, a good lot of them only have unlimited sow and juvenile boar policy when it comes to big boar there is a fee attached, i have heard of horror stories of guys shooting trophy boar and being forced to fork for them, hard to tell boars/sows apart when they are in full flight.

    Sixpointfive,

thanks again for all the info. I would be interested in using a rifle supplied by the outfitter so as to save the hassle of bringing my 308.
Would also prefer a semi in that instance.

I have been after a big boar since 2005, when I missed the biggest one I have seen with my own eyes from 10 yards out in California. It was dark, and I had only 1 big slug in the shotgun, but I can't get it out of my mind. Plain and simple fact is that I choked at the worst possible time.

I need something to lay this ghost to rest!

    Thanks.
