Is tippex the only way to remove fineliner mistakes? Also is there any particular brand artists prefer that defers from the normal office supplies brand tippex?

For corrections cartoonists use a medium called "white-out" Alot of people mistakenly claim tippex is a brand of white-out but it's not. It's not archival, nor very opaque, bleeds and isn't easy to re-ink over as it's made for ball point pens not brush/nibs.

White-out is a specialized guache for correcting ink drawings. There are a bunch of different brands of white-out but the two I've used are Deleter which you can get in A4 art supply [it's easily spotted among the Deleter inks as it's the only one in a white bottle] It's super opaque, easy to work with and, when applied correctly, very easy to re-ink over. Pro white is the other brand which is also good but I haven't seen it in art shops here. Alternatively invest in a good tube of white guache paint. White-out is much thicker then ink and can dry out and turn into a solid cake if your not careful.
