showing bookmarks on mac desktop

    hi,

    does anyone know if i can save internet bookmarks on osx desktop with the website icon? I'm trying to put a load on the desktop so my kids can just click on the bookmark and go straight to the site. I'm able to drag the address from the website which shows up on the desktop but no pic.
    Or can i change particular icons on my desktop?
