    Hey,
I want to get the help for a few hours of someone in marketing. I was hoping to get someone to do it as a nixer because I don't have the budget to go to a proper agency. I made a post in the marketing forum but haven't got much response, so would anyone have any recommendations on how to find someone who'd give me a few hours of their time?

    Thanks

Agencies charge by the hour and you can get them in large sizes such as Irish International etc. and small.

You could also look at talking to recent graduates - such as myself.

However, it will depend on what work you need done, for example if it is just advice - on position, pricing, promotion etc... then a graduate would be enough.

However, If you want to run a campaign, you will need someone with a bit more experience.

What exactly do you want ?
You need to have an object or else meeting anyone will be a waste of time ?

    I'd like to get help with;

    Starting a brand identity
    Analysis of target audience
    Strategising the approach to market
    Ideas around marketing methods

The business approach itself is quite disruptive so I want to maximise the effectiveness of this when it comes to communicating to the audience. As in, if the two can work in harmony it could work very well, but if they don't then it could be quite messy.

As mentioned in my PM, you first need to look at your product and develop it around that.

What is your product - as this will greatly effect on who is suitable to work on a marketing plan / brand strategy.

You'll find lots of marketing consultants who will talk for hours on the above (disruptive, working in harmony, etc.) but tell you nothing tanagible.

    1. You have an idea for a product/service - done
    2. Do some market research.
    - who are the customers
    - why will they buy your product
    - who are the competitors
    3. Use the market research to develop your USP and brand identity, this will help you position your product with regards to the market and your competitors.
Brand identity, product position will help you set price and identify the message you need to communicate to your customers.
    4. Marketing Plan - how will you get the message out about your product
    - what is your route to market etc..

    PM me.

One of my friends (well, practically my brother in law) is a marketing consultant, and he'll do a nixer for you.

And he's brilliant IMO - has worked for O2, MyHome.ie, youth outreach, some TV stuff, Screenclick.com, promo for sporting products & drinks in gyms across the country etc etc

If you want I can set you up for a consultation with him. One thing I can't tell you is how much he'll charge, but I'm sure it wouldn't be extortionate.
