    Hey all,
Ive just been offered an extension to my contract. i may however be offered another position with another company.

If I sign the contract extension and then decide to leave in January, what implications may this have. Can they do anything about this?

    Urgent responses needed guys, thanks.

Yes they could take you to court and you would lose.

But it is highly unlikely they will do this.

Does the contract not have a notice period?

    Not necessarily.

Are you a real contractor (no PAYE, training or employment rights, get paid by the company only after you've invoiced them)? Or a temp (PAYE deducted from your pay etc).

If the former, then the contract should have what happens if either party wants to break it. If the latter, then it should have a notice period.
