    Hi,

Was thinking about buying one from Dunnes for the son as there great value at the moment, but I was wondering if they are the HD model. A friend told me that the x box with the chrome cd tray are th HD ones, is this true??

If you are on about the arcade model for €139 then it doesn't have a hdmi port but will run on HD with a componant cable.

There all HD the only difference in xbox is the memory size. But your better of gettin bigger memory. The arcade on has only 256mb i think the pro has 60 gigs and the elite has 120 gigs that is the black one.

I agree with finno, you would be better off going for one with higher memory. I made the mistake of getting an arcade back last year and had to trade up to get what I really wanted. I don't download a lot of stuff, but I still needed it.

Technically yes, but you can't just buy any HDD and throw it in there - unless you know what you're doing.

You can buy HDD upgrade kits for about 60-80 I think.

But in fairness, for the price of the xbox + upgrade kit, you may as well just buy one with a decent HDD to begin with, and save yourself the money and messing.
