The Blach S.C cards with master card logo/date and cv2 numbers, can they be used online?

Do they say 'For electronic use only'?

If so, they can't be used online.

I wouldn't imagine you could use them online. Be interesting to see what the answer to this will be.

From what I remember in the Ryanair thread it does but if you want to use it for Ryanair there are cheaper options (also be vary of the management fee etc. on it if the balance is not used).

I used them online before. Last done it about 6 months ago but did it successfully a number of times.

All these gift cards with mastercard logos are simply branded pre-paid mastercards and can be used wherever mastercards are accepted.

Sorry for digging up an old thread.

Electronic Use Only does NOT mean it can't be used online. It simply means the numbers aren't embossed(right word??!) on so the very old machines which take a carbon copy of the credit don't work.

It really means nothing now adays.

Electronic use only means that the card can only be used in a "real time" transaction via a terminal or internet. This ensures that the balance is available and deducted immediately.

If a retailer's electronic terminal is out of action, then they are not guaranteed the funds if they simply take down the card details for keying in later.
