St. Stephens Day Magners League on Free To Air Television

This isn't a match stream as such so I've put it in a new thread, but feel free to move it if it should be somewhere else.

Anyway, for anyone who hasn't seen this advertised, Setanta are unscrambling their channel for two days this Christmas as a free sampler.

There won't be any live sport on Christmas Day, but the two interprovincial Magners League games on the 26th are included (and also an English Premier League game). So if you have a satellite dish but no Setanta subscription (like me), you'll be able to watch for free!

Does that include Sky dishes are the other dishes? Thanks for the heads up by the way.

    Cheers for that OP.

Can go to Munster vs Connacht and watch it in full afterwards on my Sky+.

Also, the 1872 Cup Matches (Edinburgh vs Glasgow) are both live on STV during the holidays.

You can get STV on "Other Channels" on Sky.

First Scottish derby is also live on Setanta which makes it easier to record using Sky+ rather than through 'other channels' on Sky where it can only be manually recorded. Hope this helps. Great weekend of rugby viewing ahead!

    Brilliant! Cheers OP!

Anyone have the codes for getting STV on 'other channels'?

You don't need this as you will be able to see it on Setanta 'in the clear' and as I said earlier it's easier to record via Setanta than 'other channels.'

Did I misunderstand this, I have a UPC box but it still says access denied to Setanta Sports? Do I have to tune this manually I wonder?

On Sky anyway, Setanta Sports is still blocked. It's Setanta Ireland that is free for the two days.

Ah right I thought the games were being shown on Setanta Sports as opposed to Setanta Ireland. Thats grand so!

PL football (Man City vs Stoke City) blacked out for viewers in NI as expected.

Just a reminder that anyone with a dish and no Setanta needing a fix of Sunday rugby can watch Glasgow v Edinburgh on STV at the moment.

15-12 to Glasgow at half time, very decent crowd for a ML game in Scotland.

Enjoyed watching this full blooded encounter. Only problem with STV is recording the channel as it's not on Sky EPG it has to be manually recorded which is a bit of a pain.

As an add-on to this I see that Setanta are offering their channels free now for three months if you pay two bills at the post office. Well, it says 'free' but then theres a €5 connection charge.

Seems like a good deal though as long as you're not tied down to anything once the three months are up. You get the impression Setanta are getting a bit desperate now though.

Interesting how "Access Denied" comes up when you click on "Terms & Conditions".
