Its goin to be quiet in jan. Not a lot to do in the algarve tbh. I was there a few times but i always hired a bike (motorbike) an went explorin. Theres a good jeep safari thing where you do some walking and canoeing. Best thing to do is get the wee flyers that will be in your hotel. I love the algarve.

i agree with some of what geezer says, think there's plenty to do ya just gotta find it. definitely exploring is the way to go. theres a great road that runs from huelva in spain along the algarve coast and then heads north towards lisbon , think its N125. some great spots off it, i've hired a camper four times and did a fair old tour of algarve and alentejo and still reckon i,ve only scratched the surface. Lagos(old town), Sagres , Aljesir are well worth a nose around as are all the little praias. Or ya could just enjoy the vino tinto and brandymel
