ATM in NY won't let me take out (much) money

    hi all,
    I was in NY last week on business and I had my credit card maxed out on expenses :rolleyes:.
    Anyway I had used my regular laser card from Ireland 2 days previous and took out $200 with no problems. I've been to the states a good few times and did similar.

    I went to take money out from Chase bank (about $300) and it said I had exceeded my daily limit. Even when i chose $20 dollars, it said it was above my daily limit. Tried another bank (Capital One) and the same happened.

    Did this ever happen anybody else before? I was travelling with a colleague and it happened her too.

    Before you ask, I hadnt used the card in 2 days and there was funds in it...

    Most Laser cards have restrictions abroad.

    I was in New York 3 weeks previous and had no problems taking out a couple of hundred dollars a go. Not letting me take out $20 is a bit unreasonable though
