I don't believe it, another Friday night game for us. The traffic trying to get into Limerick is mental if you are coming from Cork, Christmas shopping or not. We had to leave at 3:30 the last day to get up for just before 7:00. Do the ERC realise that not all Munster fans live within walking distance from Thomond.
When is the last time Munster had a 3:30 kick off on a Saturday, just like the good old days before the Sky Sports contract.

I've heard the traffic can be horrendous around Limerick for the evening matches alright. I actually used to love the Friday evening games in Donnybrook though. Out for a few pints after work before the game. I'd love to have a few more like that each year. Back to the good old days. Wanna trade? :)

What team would exactly? Surprised at the sense of entitlement here.

a lot of teams in England and France would generally have mostly local support as oppossed to provincial

(a lot also have proper transport, roads, parking etc:pac:)

sure we have to keep heading down after work in Dublin on a Friday

to be fair its also a burden on away supporters

Surprised that Gloucester vs Biarritz is not to be covered live by Sky as on paper at least it looks a tasty tie. Surprised that Ulster vs Edinburgh is live on Sky as both teams are almost certainly out of contention for knock out stages and probably playing only for place in Challenge Cup.

There's no sense of entitlement but what this country lacks more than others is a decent public transport system hence most supporters have to drive thus creating most of the problems for Friday night games. How many trains/buses are there to Cork, Waterford, Kerry or Dublin from Limerick after 22:30 on a Friday night? The gardai, local authority and the Munster branch have previously requested that Friday night games should be avoided, obviously, their view was not considered. Hopefully, with the opening of the Shannon tunnel this will reduce some of the problems with getting to the ground.

As an aside, the Friday night game means the Saints only have a 5 day turn around from their Sunday game against Perpignan to their away game to us on Friday.

Interesting point you make about views of Munster branch not being considered. Some years ago ERC arranged Ulster vs Leicester for a Sunday lunchtime. Over 700 letters/faxes/e mails of protest went into Ulster Branch. Efforts were made to change the date and time to no avail. However Ulster Branch must have made it clear to ERC that Sunday matches were causing a major problem with many objections for since then (think it was early 2004) there hasn't been another Ulster Sunday fixture at home. Maybe more people need to make their views known to MB and through them to ERC.
