My lovely BMC has developed a crack after only a very small amount of use, and not even one race. :(

The bit you are looking at is the funky bit near the seat post.

I was about to ask which part of the frame I'm looking at.

You did well spotting that. I'd be fairly peeved if it were my bike.

That is bloody annoying. Where did you buy it from in the end?

You would think that aluminium would be a bit harder wearing in the short term.

Better upgrade to the carbon CX01. :pac:

He just goes so fast that time wraps around him, and as you can understand the bicycle wasn't designed for traveling through time!

I think you need to move to Ti -you're too much man for carbon :)

2nd time you have to send it back - maybe you should change to a different frame? Surely BMC and Evans owe you an upgrade.

I contacted the bike shop, who asked for pictures. They contacted BMC who have advised that the crack I reported is not structural. It appears to be a paint crack which may have been caused by settlement in the filler in this area of frame. So according to BMC the bike is sound. If I am happy with that they are gonna send me out a BMC racing kit :)

    Filler? Wassat then?

How much did you pay for that bike, Raam?

    It's bloody cheap today...

didn't realise it had braze ons, that makes it even more tempting. Ah well.

That's a great deal. They've knocked a chunk off it. I got it for 1200 on Evans, which was the cheapest at the time, and also used the bike to work scheme, so it worked out dead cheap.

It's a deadly bike, I love it. Wheels are rubbish though.

Those 16 spoke fronts shimano make are mostly made out of pasta.

Assos make BMC's kit, is that what you're getting?

I thought it was under the BB looking up through both chainstays!

looks like a paint crack anyway, nothing to worry about Id say.
